June 17 – 21: Just Desserts! Baking Camp
AGES: 5 - 8 (mornings) 9 - 13 (afternoons) Calling all dessert lovers . . . this is the camp you've been waiting for! NOT JUST CUPCAKES! A new baking project every day that will entertain and teach you basic baking skills!
Class projects will include: * Mini fruit pies * Ice cream cookie sandwiches with homemade ice cream * Baking and painting sugar cookies * Cupcakes * Mini rainbow bundt cakes * Campers will "taste test" their creations and then get to take some home to share with their families.

June 17 – 21: Players in Training Basketball Camp
AGES: 9 - 12 (mornings) 13 - 17 (afternoons) We are excited to announce and offer the first annual Players in Training Basketball Camp for boys, aged 9 - 17. We will focus on basic ball handling, passing, and shooting skills. You will need to bring a good, coachable attitude, basketball or tennis shoes, water bottle, and the correct size basketball for your age.

June 17 – 21: Bugs & Butterflies
AGES: 5 - 8 This camp is for your little green thumbs! Campers will learn gardening basics and even start a few seeds of their own while learning the beauty and usefulness of plants. Kids and nature go together like Bugs and Butterflies. Campers will do "insectigations" of many common insects and arachnids in our area.
Class projects will include: * Create a gardening it * Make your own planter * Make a seed bomb * Do a seed starting * Plants and Medicine * Bug catcher * Bug boxes * Make insect crafts * Antenna hats * Create a mini butterfly habitat

June 17: There is HOPE Recovery Weekly Meeting
6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sand Springs Baptist Church. A 12-step program for any addiction, recovery is available. We will be putting GOD FIRST so that he can change us from the Inside - Out. No matter what you are dealing with in life, There Is HOPE.
June 18: Baby Story Time
Held at the Henderson County Clint W. Murchison Memorial Library.
Join Ms. Lynn for basic sign language, songs, fine motor skills board books, finger puppet plays, and social interaction.
NOTE: Due to the popularity of this activity, there are now two sessions offered - one at 10:30 a.m. and another at 11:30 a.m. Each class is approximately 30 minutes in length.
June 18: Common Medicinal Herbs Demonstration
Join Master Gardener Shannon Greene for a hands-on demonstration on “Common Medicinal Herbs”. This demonstration is part of the Henderson County Master Gardener Association’s Library Series and will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at 5:30 pm at the Clint W. Murchison Memorial Library, 121 S. Prairieville, Athens. You will learn about what part of the plants are used, how to prepare the plant parts for use, and storing the prepared herb. Each person will get to assist with making capsules, tinctures, decoctions, and teas. Learn how common Chamomile, Plantain, St. John’s Wort, Lemon Balm, Echinacea, Thyme, and more can be used for common health concerns. This demonstration is free and open to the public. June 18: Alzheimer’s Support Group Monthly Meeting
5:30 p.m. at Arabella Retirement Community
Vision: We are walking daily hand in hand giving support to the caregivers of Henderson County. We provide continuing education and services for caregivers touched by Alzheimer’s Disease and other related dementias.
Mission: Our mission is to provide support services for caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. We offer respite services for caregivers of persons with a debilitating disease.
June 18: Athens Masonic Lodge #165 Weekly Meeting
The Athens Masonic Lodge meets every Tuesday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a monthly business meeting occurring on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
June 19: Manes and Tails Day Camp
The Henderson County Library and Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch are partnering up to bring you a once in a lifetime program, Manes and Tales! We are a small country church that was originally a "Mission Church" until May of 1969 when the Mission was declared a separate church. We have been in our current location since August of 1989.
