The mission of Love in Action is to end homelessness in Henderson County.

Have you ever walked past someone who you knew needed help, but you did nothing because you didn't know what to do? Now, there is a place where homeless people in our county can get help. And, not just help, but love and acceptance in the name of Jesus. Everything we do is in His Name and for His glory. Each person is treated with dignity and respect, and we do all we can to get each of our guests back into stable housing while we minister to their most pressing needs - food, shower, clean clothes, job search, etc.

The services we provide include:

• Mailboxes and lockers

• Computer access to apply for jobs, get ID and other important papers, and to look for other services

• Food items that can be eaten without cooking or utensils

• Laundry

• Shower and personal hygiene

• Coats, socks, underwear and other apparel items

• Haircuts available from time to time

• Nurse practitioner available from time to time

• Rehousing, whenever possible

• Driving guests to and from appointments

Volunteers provide compassion and assistance to guests by helping prepare and distribute meals, organize and distribute supplies and toiletries, and assist in researching services for each guests' individual needs.

Hours are:  Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
