TRINITY VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE - Has specialty courses to help you . . .

U.S. CITIZENSHIP CLASSES - sponsored by Athens First United Methodist Church, this course Adult Citizenship Education Content Standards and Foundation Skills, help you or a family member become a Naturalized citizen of the United States and enjoy all the benefits that come with being a citizen of the United States, including the right to vote.

 

  • You must be 18 years old or older at the time of filing Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

 

  • Be a lawful permanent resident (have a “green card”).

 

  • Demonstrate Continuous permeant residence in the United States for at least 5 years.

 

  • Show that you have been physically present in the United States for 30 months (in some cases, this may be 18 months if you are married to a U.S. citizen.

 

  • Show that you have lived for at least 3 months in the state or USCIS district where you claim residency.

 

There is no charge for this course you learn at your own pace.  Teaches you how to read and write in English to fill out your N-400 and to answer the questions on the Citizenship test.

 

We meet every Tuesday in the Activities Building from 6:00 pm till 7:30 pm Second Class room on the left.  Please feel free to join our class!

TEXAS A&M AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION SERVICE 

The Henderson County Extension Office is your link to the most current, unbiased information available on subjects that matter to you. Extension offers practical, how-to education based on university research. It’s available to any resident of Texas. You may read it in the newspaper, hear it on the radio, attend an Extension workshop, order a publication or just call your county Extension office!

 

Extension education covers a wide range of subjects: from raising cattle to landscaping your yard, from developing a community waste-disposal program to preparing healthy meals for your family, from skills for county officials to building self-esteem and responsibility in young people. Extension is current and cutting-edge information.
