Henderson County Coalition
The goal of the Henderson County Coalition is to reduce substance abuse within Henderson County. The presence of information tables at a variety of local events helps to further the cause. Staff and volunteers also make presentations on the effects of underage drinking to youth groups at churches and classrooms in the surrounding areas schools. Ongoing promotions such as Sticker Shock (which places reminder stickers on multi-packs of alcohol) serve to remind the community that buying alcohol for individuals under the age of 21 is illegal.
The Coalition also has youth prevention programs in the area, and recovery services for individuals who have just gotten out of treatment for substance abuse.
Meetings are held the second Thursday of every month at the Henderson County Juvenile Probation offices.

The Henderson County Coalition is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help in setting up information tables at events, making presentations to youth groups or classes, and/or helping to schedule and set up events throughout the year. No special talents are required. Training is provided.
